As part of the system modernization, we commenced breaking down the project's monolithic architecture into microservices and implemented the following enhancements: Our developers established a new project infrastructure on the Azure cloud using Terraform and Kubernetes to automate software deployment, achieve more granular resource management, and optimize infrastructure costs. We then migrated part of client services from Azure AppServices to Azure Kubernetes clusters. In addition, our team incorporated Docker into the project and Dockerized the on-premise version of the software. Furthermore, we upgraded the UI/UX for both on-premise and web-based digital signage software versions, implementing new layouts. The redesigned layout of the on-premise version of the digital display board software significantly simplified software installation and updating processes for the client’s customers. Results Acropolium boosted platform security through the implementation of IdentityServer SSO. The company reduced new user onboarding time to under five minutes by upgrading the on-premise version of the digital signage software. The new UX/UI design resulted in a 30% increase in NPS. Challenge The client approached us with a request to upgrade their transportation management system, which involved modernizing their platform, developing new features, and providing ongoing maintenance. Our task was to ensure smooth and efficient legacy system modernization to help the client remain competitive in the digitized logistics landscape. Solution Firstly, we laid the groundwork for our transportation management platform development process by outlining the business aspects. Challenge Our task was to create an IoT vehicle tracking system to display real-time data on a map. Connected devices would continuously update vehicle information such as location, speed, fuel, driving time, and camera footage through the CAN bus, all stored in a database. The solution needed to enable dispatchers to oversee data, generate reports, monitor events, control devices, handle billing, and access fleet management tools via mobile devices or laptops.   Solution The client's PoC lacked documentation. We only had the product vision, a basic web app, and some documentation from IoT device manufacturers.   The existing codebase couldn't meet the client's goals. The provided app was more of a concept than a complete GPS telematics fleet tracking software, necessitating significant updates, essentially requiring us to rewrite most parts of the app from scratch.     Our teams ensured all device data was stored for analysis and could be exported in .csv and .pdf formats for reporting.  Continuous data transmission ensured that active fleet tracking devices consistently provided essential vehicle data, including speed, road time, fuel level, GPS position, tire pressure, and live camera feeds.  The implemented data visualization features presented collected data on the in-app interactive map and in web reports.  Additionally, we leveraged remote command processing to allow dispatchers to control devices, including engine and container access.  Our code optimization strategy improved system stability, allowing more trucks to be displayed simultaneously. Results The client expanded the map display capacity from 100 to 1000 truck objects.  Acropolium provided seamless integration with nearly 1000 IoT devices, including GPS trackers from various manufacturers.  We introduced new features like live video streaming from cameras and remote command processing to the client’s workflow.
