Challenge & Objectives The client’s goal was to create an immersive VR experience that allowed users to customize a Porsche Taycan with high visual fidelity. The configurator needed to provide a comprehensive, interactive experience, with multiple customization options and the ability to switch environments, all while maintaining smooth performance in virtual reality. Our Solution We leveraged the power of Unreal Engine 5 to build a high-resolution VR configurator that featured: Environment Customization: Users can change the car’s surroundings, seamlessly switching between multiple environments to see the Porsche Taycan in various settings. Color Customization: The configurator allows users to swap between several car paint options, highlighting the vehicle’s sleek design in a range of colors. Rim Customization: Users can change the rims, choosing from different styles to personalize the car’s look. Car Display Functionality: The VR experience includes the ability to turn on the car’s display, showcasing the technology and interior dashboard features of the vehicle. Interior Color Options: Users can also customize the car’s interior, selecting color combinations to suit their taste. The project had a tight timeline of two to three months, requiring experienced developers familiar with RTS game development along with well-verse game designers who could research time-accurate battles and storylines that could facilitate the storytelling and gameplay. Challenge YieldYeti client came to us with the need for a robust and engaging game that would handle multiple players, point scoring, trading, and seamless interaction—all while ensuring top performance and scalability. This required a custom-built game engine, complete database development, and an efficient backend system to manage real-time interactions. Given the scale and complexity of the project, there was a significant need for flexibility, responsiveness, and high-quality execution. Our Solution We leveraged our expertise in Unity and Photon Engine to build the game infrastructure from scratch. This included developing a custom game developmeny, a comprehensive backend system for player interactions, and an intricate database to manage game data efficiently. Our work included: Game Engine Development: Creating a powerful, custom-built engine to manage game mechanics and ensure smooth performance. In a sandbox project like Metaverse, it is key to create the environment and character(s) that are deeply immersive, match the theme, and drive toward the narrative. During the world-building of Yetiverse, we had to keep the following factors in mind: It needed to be low-poly to run on both high and low-end mobile devices The art style had to be toon-ish and 3D Character model for yeti - friendly yet maintaining its features from the lore Clothing design for different tiers of yetis Create unique buildings that could serve different purposes Concept Art With these directions in mind, we started brainstorming for ideas and set out to explore for references that matched our vision. The art team had a lot of fun doing this; old Christmas movies and lores of yetis and bigfoot were revisited, and mountainous regions of Iceland and Norway were studied for the environment design along with snowcapped English cottages for buildings. Collaboration & Client Experience As the project grew in complexity, it allowed us to work with the YieldYeti team with an in-depth communication and efficient problem-solving. At this time, Yetiverse offers two multiplayer minigames inside the metaverse, namely Snowboarding (ski racing game) and Yeto (a Yeti-themed UNO). Both games were designed to keep the users in the metaverse engaged and use the in-game currency to play ranked games. Impact & Early Results While the game has not officially launched, initial performance testing has been highly promising. A small external testing cohort has reported excellent results, with no significant bugs or issues—a testament to the high-quality work delivered by our development team. Our client has noted that our quick response times and proactive issue resolution have been key to the project’s smooth progress.
