The “e-Cuib” system was built together with the World Bank to support the National Authority for Child Rights Protection and Adoption (NACRP) in the process of deinstitutionalization of National Child Placement Centres. The World Bank is an international financial institution, over 100 staff, that provides loans to countries of the world for capital projects. The main challenge was to structure the complex and vast data collection process into an easy to use platform. This data would be subjected to a set of strongly correlated validations that improves the overall data quality. The collected information includes medical, social and psychological evaluations of children and personnel (16 instruments with 100+ indicators) and financial and organisational information about the institutions (21 instruments with 150+ indicators). Using the system, the supervisors can generate various reports and manage the data collection process. When the process is finalised, the supervisors can create a comprehensive report (of over 500 pages) to directly apply for EU funding. The project had a very tight deadline to meet, so in order to create a data collection system that vast, we opted to integrate an existing data collection framework (Kobo). Starting from the clearly defined project requirements we created design mockups that also had to work with the existing data entry form design. Our newly created system integrated seamlessly with the data collection framework, the project is delivered and under maintenance for the next period. The design team also created an identity (brand & logo) and a design style guide for the project. During the first pilot there was a large amount of sensitive data collected: information about 43 centres and about 3500 children. For each person an average of 1600 indicators were collected. In total in the platform there were collected more than 5 million datapoints. The centres continue to use the system to monitor and manage the centre’s closing process which takes over 3 yrs.

Ernst & Young(EY) is working together with various banks on their Effective Interest Rate (EIR) needs. They have developed a methodology that gathers the required data from the bank and produces the monthly EIR reports. In this project we have built a system that connects to a bank’s datasources, processes the required data and produces the EIR reports. These reports can be viewed online in the web platform and downloaded to usual exportable formats (CSV, XLS). The system was designed to be deployed on a bank’s infrastructure and to leverage the existing datasource and directory services. We have just delivered phase 1 of the project in which the gathered data is processed and displayed/exported. Right now the project has been delivered and preparations are being done for deployment at a certain bank. In the second phase of the project the system is going to evolve and will allow the users to customize the analysis process (individual assessments, custom calculations, tweak analysis parameters, group portfolios), customize reports and have validation user-roles for the whole monthly evaluation process. Ernst & Young is deploying the system (including CMS integration of the front-end code developed) at 5 banks in the current year in various markets in Europe.

For iOS we went for a native implementation, with a very fluid, intuitive UI. For Android, we went for an implementation in Flutter, to benefit from the amazing speed of development that the platform offers. Even though we had tough time constraints, the AB4 Systems managed to deliver an amazing app for both platforms. Our users can now buy tickets and see festival information from their own pockets.
