The Challenge april faced the monumental task of distinguishing itself as the pioneer AI-powered tax system, poised to revolutionize the outdated tax industry. The mission was two-fold: to reframe the tax filing experience into one that is fundamentally consumer-centric, achieved through strategic partnerships with banks, creditors, payroll services, fintech, HR tech, and e-commerce platforms, and to elevate the brand to a position of notable prominence within these sectors. Concurrently, there was a critical need to bolster april’s lead generation efforts, ensuring the seamless integration of its cutting-edge technology across these varied platforms. Furthermore, a significant challenge lay in spotlighting the founder’s deep technical acumen and expertise in AI, establishing them as leading authorities and thought leaders within the rapidly evolving tech landscape. This multifaceted challenge required a nuanced approach, not just in technological innovation but in strategic communication and brand positioning to truly transform April into a trailblazer of the tax industry. The Results Before working with Avenue Z, april had very limited brand recognition, and despite already being in market, the company had never officially announced its launch. Since partnering with us, april is dominating its position as the pioneer AI-powered tax system. april has been featured in Axios, Forbes, Fox Business, American Banker, and many others. The brand also received widespread recognition winning major awards, most notably being named as one of Fast Company’s World-Changing Ideas.
The Challenge AdventHealth Nicholson Center sought a more user-friendly website experience, both on the front and back end. They needed a clean, minimalistic design that incorporated their color palette to enhance user experience. They also required a reorganized information architecture and an efficient content management system for quick updates to their ever-changing list of meetings and events. The Challenge In the wake of challenges, Better found itself at a crucial turning point. The company was determined to revitalize its image and strengthen its position in the market. The primary goal was to shift the narrative towards a renewed vision of the company’s core values and objectives. Key to overcoming these challenges was the task of generating positive news coverage around significant company milestones. Better aimed to re-establish its brand as a leading, consumer-first service in the industry. The objective was clear: to not just recover but to emerge stronger, demonstrating through action and communication that Better was committed to excellence, innovation, and most importantly, its customers. This required a strategic, multifaceted approach to media engagement and storytelling, one that would convincingly convey Better’s dedication to its mission and its stakeholders The Approach Within three months, Better received positive coverage in top-tier outlets such as Business Insider, Yahoo! Finance, and Bloomberg TV, highlighting its key milestones. The successful PR launches of Better’s One Day Mortgage and Equity Unlocker products resulted in 30+ articles in major publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Fox Business, Business Insider, and Fortune. A PR milestone was achieved with over 20 articles and 600 media mentions in just three days, focusing on the innovative Equity Unlocker, notably covered in The Wall Street Journal. The media rollout of Better’s IPO in August 2023 led to over 20 pieces of positive coverage in key financial outlets and five broadcast appearances on platforms like CNBC Squawk Box and Fox Business.
