<p>Betterpath’s fundamental goal is to unlock the value of complete health data. Health data is incomplete, fragmented and inaccessible across the health system, evidenced by the fact that neither you, nor your doctor has the ability to access a complete set of your medical information. Many systemic issues impacting healthcare today trace back to this incomplete data problem. Even though you are the only stakeholder with the right to access ALL of your information, the overwhelming complexity of the health system prevents most of us from even trying to collect it all in one place. The fact is that patients, people (all of us) are not motivated to collect all of our health data because the burden of doing so outweighs the benefit. So where do we start? How can we benefit from ‘activating on our health’ and taking on this burden? To fix the healthcare system, consumers must be in control of their information. To expedite this shift to consumer-based healthcare, Betterpath is building a Consumer-directed Exchange for health data that financially motivates consumers to collect and control their health data as an asset.</p>
