I was born in France, with family ties on both sides of the English Channel, which allowed me to experience life in Dakar, Senegal, before returning to Nantes, France, where I completed my secondary education, earning my Baccalauréat in Modern Literature and Languages.
I then pursued higher education at the University of Angers, where I earned an Honours Degree in Business Management. I further enhanced my knowledge with a Master's degree in Export and Logistics from the École de Commerce de Normandie.
My professional career began as an in-house translator for a large European logistics company, first in France and then in the UK, before settling in Glasgow, Scotland in 1993. Over the years, I have held various commercial and managerial positions in the logistics and food industry, including two directorships.
In 2014, I made a career change and leveraged my unique cultural knowledge, bilingual background, and business experience to become a professional translator. I initially worked in-house while studying for a professional certificate in French-English translation. With my refreshed translation techniques and additional experience, I transitioned to freelance work in 2015, launching Ecosse Translations.
