Overview The platform is a medical-grade solution for non-invasive monitoring of vital signs and various physiological parameters. System is not only used in hospitals and nursing homes, it has also been a great success with athletes and the elderly people. Solution The project consists of 5 sub-systems: wearable devices (patch or wristwatch), iOS and Android user mobile apps, Hospital Work Stations, Cloud API Server, and an Admin area. Custom wearable devices take samples hundreds of times per second and transmit the data to the cloud (and to the Patient’s app or the Hospital Workstation) and in real-time. The solution also allows patients to view recorded data and provides useful insights for doctors and caretakers. Patients also can set alarm alerts and medication reminders by a few taps. The system is scalable to monitor an unlimited number of patients simultaneously so that it can serve small hospitals or large clinics. The whole system is HIPAA and GDPR compliant by design. Furthermore, the project has received CE mark approval and FDA clearance.
Overview The Screening Tool is a surveying software with an automated patient referral system. It is used to screen Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries for social determinants of health (SDH) such as food, housing, transportation, and employement. Challenge The client company connects traditional medical care with community resources. It’s a partnership of community organizations, local government agencies, healthcare providers, and businesses. Back in the older days, their screenings used to be paper-based so the data was manually re-keyed and it was really hard to keep all the partners in the loop. The referrals were also made manually, which meant that a lot of time was spent over the phone or exchanging emails. Solution The new electronic system allowed our customer to make the process more consistent and keep all the records intact. The app algorithm captures responses, identifies the person’s needs, and determines whether they’d like assistance or not. The referrals flow automatically through a centralized community navigation team, which saves time and resources and helps to avoid duplication. In addition to that, our client and participating Emergency Departments were able to shorten their response time. Customer was able to screen thousands of people in the waiting rooms using the Screening Tool. They’ve received excellent feedback from users and even demoed the app to other groups who might want to join up in the future.
Overview The project is a mental wellness program that strives to reduce stigma around mental health care and make it personal and accessible. The program is based on years of research and is designed to equip people with hands-on techniques that would help them relieve stress and anxiety, and live the life they want. Solution Program participants form groups and meet once a week to discuss their progress in a safe environment. They’ve got peer leaders – program alumni themselves – and medical providers to help them set achievable goals pertinent to 5 domains of mental well-being: body, thoughts, feelings, actions and relationships. The participants can track their progress and log the barriers they encounter. Hard work earns them points and rewards. Empeek has successfully delivered a cross-platform mobile app and a web-based admin area. The platofrm is now used as an addition to traditional therapy in a number of medical practices across the US and as a stand-alone online service. App for teens and for kids are already in the works!
