Malta Warehouse

Malta Warehouse wanted to be Malta's best online supermarket experience, servicing customers both online through a modern cutting-edge website and a native mobile app available on both Android and iOS. A very ambitious project delivering a fantastic service to the customer, selling at wholesale prices and including free delivery; it was immediately apparent that we needed to develop something bigger and better than anything else on the market. That is why, our first step was to understand the competition and compare this to the more successful foreign supermarkets offering a similar service. Over the course of a few months, the entire Incredible Web team bought their groceries online, noting the similarities between the different online supermarket services and the differences. As newcomers to the online supermarket world, the team couldn't help but be impressed by the amazing convenience of having your shopping delivered to you. No need to carry heavy shopping bags, look for parking or wait in the queue at the cash till. However they all had one crucial flaw, their interface was not up to standard. Many products did not have a matching photo, searching for a product was tedious, products would be out of stock and still available online, or you would order yoghurt without knowing what flavours would arrive - and there is a big difference between strawberry pannacotta and pineapple. Shopping online was taking almost as long as shopping at the supermarket and as most supermarket websites were not mobile-friendly, it had to be done on a laptop at home or at work. Compare this to doing your shopping on the loo or whilst waiting at the hair salon. This is the gap that Incredible Web aimed to fill with the development of maltawarehouse.com, a mobile-friendly website accompanied by a native mobile app available on the respective app stores. We developed the website using the open-source UmbracoCMS and uCommerce, allowing us great customisability to match the user's current stock. We spent weeks reviewing the user experience, A/B testing different scenarios and seeing which one performs better. Should the shopping cart be visible in the bottom of the screen or slides out from the right Each test was ran against a number of test users and their feedback was taken into consideration before approving a design. Finally once the website and mobile applications were ready and deployed, we launched Malta Warehouse to the public and the feedback has been outstanding. Most users are return users and the average session is under 10 minutes, demonstrating that the UX choices we made have bore fruit. Apart from this, Malta Warehouse also ranks highly on search engines and is in a steady crescendo. We believe that once you try Malta Warehouse, you will hate the queues and the carrying. I wish that we met up with Incredible Web immediately as it would have saved us a lot of time as from the first meeting we felt that they knew exactly what we wanted and needed. It's not that other companies didn't understand, however it seemed like our project this online supermarket in Malta was too much of an obstacle especially when we stressed that we wanted to be the first online supermarket with a dedicated mobile app! Incredible Web did just that, they developed the most modern online supermarket website in Malta for us, together with the Mobile App we wanted! Redbet

Redbet is an award-winning online gaming platform that aims to continuously improve its customer’s experience using state of the art technology. Redbet sought out Incredible Web’s expertise when they wanted to benefit of native app capabilities as well as increase target audience reach through the respective stores. Incredible Web proposed to develop Redbet’s first native mobile application which transforms the existing web application into a native wrapper mobile solution available for both iOS and Android. The team used the Xamarin framework to design and develop both the iOS and Android applications. In-line with Apple’s Appstore Minimum Functionality Requirements and as an effective user engagement tool, the app uses PUSH notifications and other native device capabilities in order to improve the user’s experience. These features aim to stimulate user engagement and allows the user to launch the app, load the web application and also navigate the user to a specific page on the web application depending on the type and content of the PUSH notification. Moreover, the proposed solution sought to further enhance the user’s engagement with the mobile app by utilizing Fingerprint authentication and Touch-Id to seamlessly authenticate the user into the app thus avoiding the burden of having the user input the email address and password every time the user session times out. The device checks whether the current app user is the authorized app user and authenticates the user using a Single-Sign-On mechanism negotiated between the native application and the underlying web application. The native wrapper app also takes advantage of the device’s geolocation capabilities by reading the user’s real-time Geolocation in order to fully comply with the jurisdiction gaming policies governed by the country in which the user is utilizing the app.

Bumalift to University

Bumalift to University has been launched in October 2016 at the University of Malta (UoM) with the objective of solving both traffic and parking issues using an innovative online carpooling platform catering for both University and student requirements. The University of Malta wished to promote greener methods of transportation and to reduce the number of cars around the area while improving parking space management. UoM had previously allocated 35 places to carpoolers in order to encourage students to share rides with each other and empowered the University Students’ Council to manage all University parking permits. Students were also desperate for transportation alternatives as they globally perceive public transport as unreliable and face a lack of options - solutions which apply to other countries such as tramway or cycling are often not suited to Malta. Carpooling quickly emerged as the most realistic choice. Within the first 2 weeks, more than 400 students had already registered to Bumalift to University and created 200 routes to join the carpooling revolution in Malta. Bumalift to University is a 360 online platform structured around 4 main systems: Bumalift.com is the website which is used to convey information about the Bumalift to University initiative through different sections to accommodate all audiences (Students, potential partners, etc.). It is also the point of entry for all new registrations, with a clear step-by-step explanation of the whole process. The Bumalift to University mobile app is available to both Android and iOS. It is the heart of the project. Through the app, students are able to create, search, and join carpool routes. We have bounced ideas and concepts back and forth, created thousands of mockups, hundreds of prototypes to finally develop a robust mobile app which is simple to use, engaging, and effective. Bumalift Parking Admin Panel is the back office website which is used by the University Students’ Council to identify all parking permit holders. We have developed a custom solution to automatically generate and assign QR codes as parking permit. These parking permit stickers replace old-fashioned paper permits that were previously recorded manually. Bumalift Parking Verification is a Progressive Web App which allows parking wardens to scan the QR codes printed on parking permits so they instantly receive data about the permit owner: Is the permit valid Did the owner carpool today giving them access to the exclusive car park With Bumalift to University, Incredible Web has delivered a unique solution which covers new technical grounds. And more. It is indeed a well thought product that has been articulated around a tight timeline with expertise and proficiency. Indeed, we have also put in place a network of analytic reports which allow for a constant monitoring in terms of performance but also user behaviour. Finally, we also directly engaged with users through interviews and assists students at every step of their user journey to maximise the positive impact of the platform on the University ecosystem.
