<p>We are proud of the history of the firm! The firm was set up in&nbsp;1897&nbsp;first in&nbsp;Calicut&nbsp;and then shifted to&nbsp;Mumbai (then Bombay)&nbsp;in&nbsp;1900. This makes us&nbsp;the oldest Indian Chartered Accountancy firm&nbsp;of the country. Further, our founder has been designated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) as the “&nbsp;Father of Accountancy”</p><p>Being the oldest Indian CA Firm many of the stalwarts who made the profession proud and were authorities in their own right for &nbsp;years, were associated and / or our&nbsp; products of the firm.&nbsp; To name a few of such illustrious stalwarts,&nbsp;Mr Sorab S Engineer, Mr Mr M R Tambe&nbsp;(also an Actuary) his sons&nbsp;Bharat Aiyar and Arjun Aiyar,&nbsp;have been Partners of the firm.</p><p>Prior to and after the Independence, the earst while rulers of many large and small Indian Princely states, Large and reputed Merchants of Bombay, the&nbsp;Walchand Group, the&nbsp;Khatau Group, the&nbsp;Morarkas, the&nbsp;Scinndia&nbsp;steam shipping the&nbsp;Premachand Roychand&nbsp;group, &nbsp;banks like the&nbsp;Dena Bank,&nbsp;Bank of Baroda,&nbsp;Maharashtra Bank, the&nbsp;Indian Bank Association&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Life Insurance Corporations&nbsp;were serviced for many years by the firm.</p><p>With the passage of time the Firm remained a name recognised and respected in the profession for its professionalism, expertise and service to its clients. The firm was ranked as one of the large, reputed, audit firms and added clients like&nbsp;Associated Cement Companies,&nbsp;Alembic Group&nbsp;and others.</p><p>Over the period, the Governments of the day, choose the firm as&nbsp;Auditors for CAG&nbsp;audits like the&nbsp;RBI, HAL&nbsp;and others, reposing continued respect and appreciation of service by the firm and its Partners to the profession and industry.</p>
