<p>I graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1976, and I was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 1977. I started my legal career as a commercial and business lawyer. For the next fourteen years, I worked with business clients to find practical solutions to the complex problems they often faced in running their companies. While I learned a great deal about commercial and business law, I found I did not have a passion for what I was doing.\r\n\r\nIn early 1991, an opportunity came along, which changed my life. A good friend and family lawyer decided to leave Alaska. She called and asked if she could refer her divorce clients to me when she left. I said, “Of course.” Within a matter of months, I was helping divorce clients find practical solutions for the problems they faced in their divorces. Twenty-five years and many clients later, I still love what I do.</p>
