Each year businesses send hundreds of cards to clients and employees as a way of saying thanks. Cards for Causes is a custom greeting card company with a twist, donating a portion of all sales to a charity of the customer’s choosing. Customers can select from over 1,500 different card options and then further customize them to add a personal touch. Neuron worked with Cards for Causes to redesign and redevelop an e-commerce website and companion web app following their transition to BigCommerce. We redesigned the full experience and built out a customizer tool to give users more freedom with their card design. You Rip empowers action sports athletes from around the world to connect by sharing and consuming video content, and competing in virtual or in-person challenges that are judged by other users. Available on mobile, tablet, and web, You Rip provides athletes the opportunity to compete on a global stage without travel, cost, or industry politics. Rather than rely on judges or officials, fans can directly contribute to the success of their favorite athletes by scoring video submissions. You Rip also gives athletes a space to share content, be discovered, and compared to their peers, while creating new opportunities to generate revenue from their skills through sponsorship or prize money. FutureDial creates software and robotic tools to facilitate the complex process of receiving and testing used phones and tablets. Their product line was built out over time, following client demand, and they needed a new website to feature their many products in a logical and unified way. FutureDial serves a range of customer types, most of whom are focused on just one part of the reverse supply chain. We were faced with the challenge of organizing the website in a way that was clear and intuitive to each customer type without distracting or impeding the rest. Product Design The intuitive design of the application allowsOomnitza customers to easily track assets, create reports, build workflows and more. Oomnitza’s product is highly customizable to accommodate the range of needs of their customers. This theme was carried through to the design, with the configurable widget-base dashboard, branded header, and adjustable themes. ICO Mint is an investment platform that caters to both companies and investors, providing services to successfully launch an ICO as well as securely invest in one. The platform presents unique investment opportunities to those who wish to participate in the burgeoning cryptocurrency and blockchain economy. Although cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are rapidly becoming more mainstream, many are still unfamiliar with how it works and are intimidated by the idea of participating. Our challenge was to make the convoluted world of cryptocurrency universally understandable and accessible to new adopters. The data showed that mobile accounted for 70% of site traffic, but only 10% of their revenue. Our response was to design a truly mobile-first experience, seeking to lower friction and increase conversions. Givelify approached Neuron to optimize the UX/ UI of their mobile app and web app and to re-work elements of their product strategy. Givelify is used by over 10,000 places of worship, non-profits, and other organizations aiming to make the world a better place to raise donations from their congregation and community. In the Know

In the Know is an iOS app designed and developed by Neuron for Eliquent, Inc, to help Chinese speakers learn English by focusing on the phrases needed to converse with confidence. Users browse common scenarios in the format of a feed, and each scenario is constructed in a hybrid-language format designed to increase comprehension. Featuring curated content that is crafted to be simple and effective, In the Know is designed to help users understand sentence structure, concepts, and vocabulary in small, digestible bits. Neuron was brought in early in the concept stage to help define its features, produce a complete design specification, and launch to the App Store. In the Know’s magic is how it brings language learning into the real world. It’s image recognition capabilities provide users the power to scan their surroundings and instantly translate the world around them. Users can tap a word or phrase to explore how it’s used in everyday scenarios and make important connections. In the Know also introduces a social component to language learning that lets users share and learn through the experiences of others, while maintaining their preferred level of privacy. preFlite

PreFlite takes the hassle out of being a freelance professional pilot, providing a single environment to manage flights, aircraft, operators, contracts, insurance, and even payment. Neuron was tasked with redesigning the interface of the iOS application while improving the information architecture and critical flows based on revised business logic. It was as much an exercise in branding as it was user experience, to create a look and feel that resonated with the target audience, primarily private pilots.  Central to the experience of the application is a dashboard that enables pilots to quickly and easily view their schedule, add flights, and set up the vital information to execute them, such as assigning an aircraft and crew or coordinating multiple flight legs into more complex routes. Projects for Good is a web platform for funding and implementing humanitarian projects. It combines a crowdfunding platform, a job marketplace, and a social network to bring together all the necessary pieces to bring humanitarian projects to life. Neuron has been involved in Projects for Good since its inception in 2016. From early design principles through development and operations, Neuron helped to conceptualize, design, build, and launch the web platform. Design Strategy The greatest design challenge was designing a new type of platform in a way that was universally understandable to the three distinct user types. This meant distilling everything the platform does down to its core offering: maximizing impact. The increased efficiency, transparency, and accountability all amounts to maximizing each participant’s impact, and this was carried through all facets of the platform’s design, from its messaging to its functionality. Key Features News Feed: The personalized news feed allows users to stay up to date on what is happening in the Projects for Good community. Dashboard: The dashboard provides users with an overview of their own activity and achievements on the platform. Vivint is a leader in the home security space, with more than a million active customers in North America. The Challenge: Neuron was tasked with designing a gamified inside sales portal for Vivint to help drive sales; providing a fun, openly competitive virtual space for sales professionals while giving managers insight into their performance. The Solution: The design of the sales portal is centered around a modular dashboard of widgets. In the dashboard’s default state, all widgets are collapsed and display only the most crucial information. Widgets can be expanded in-place to reveal more details, always maintaining the context of the dashboard in the background. The modular design allows for layout customization and supports future extensibility. The Portal employs game mechanics to an activity where they would normally not appear, making the daily grind of fielding sales calls more exciting and dynamic.  Design Process: We conducted a series of in-person design workshops with end users to brainstorm game concepts in real time. We created low-fidelity paper prototypes to gauge preliminary interest and then further developed the game mechanics of the most promising concepts with interactive prototypes. SmartRG provides products and services to simplify the residential internet ecosystem. The company approached Neuron to design a mobile app to give customers more insight and control of their home Wi-Fi networks. The app allows customers to create and manage Wi-Fi networks, run speed tests, view and manage connected devices, and wirelessly reboot their modem. The VYTL Fitness mobile app is a social fitness platform designed to empower users with control over how they exercise. Users can browse, watch, upload, and share short exercise videos called Clips. Individual Clips can also be assembled in the application to build custom Workouts, much like a music playlist. Users can discover other users’ Clips and Workouts by browsing what is recommended, trending, or recently added as well as by theme (channel) or by creator. The strong social element of the application will help users stay motivated in their training. Users can build a community on the platform by following friends and favorite trainers, and can track various social and fitness- related metrics on the Dashboard feature. Neuron was brought in during the early stages of concept development, helping to define the value proposition, features, and interaction model. The Challenge: With the rise of ride-sharing companies like Uber and point-to-point car-sharing companies like car2go, conventional rental car companies must reinvent their business model to remain competitive. One way for these companies to differentiate themselves is by betting big on the future of autonomous vehicles. Neuron imagines the first user interface for passenger interaction with an autonomous ride-sharing service. The Solution: Wheel will allow users to arrange and pay for a ride in a Wheel-owned autonomous vehicle. An efficient, intuitive, and emotive interface will build trust between users and this new service. Urbane serves as a central hub for the apartment, controlling smart home devices like lighting, climate control and connected appliances, as well as a portal to connect the resident to their building community, with access to building news and events, live amenity updates, and other building services like package delivery, bill payment, maintenance requests, etc. The solution we’ve imagined would take on the form of a wall-mounted touch screen device connected to existing electrical infrastructure, making it retro-fit ready. Through education, mentorship, and a successful alumnae network, Hackbright Academy is working hard to narrow the gender gap that currently exists in the computer science industry. Challenge: Neuron was brought in to give Hackbright Academy an edge in an increasingly competitive market by providing a modern brand redesign, a fresh logo, and an updated marketing website. Solution: By consolidating the top level navigation to three key sections and strategically layering the information beneath, the redesigned marketing site was able to more effectively engage prospective students regardless of which stage of the sales funnel they were at.
