A Canada-based senior care platform and medical imaging device manufacturer approached OSP. Nurses can use their medical imaging scanning devices to scan the right heel, left heel, and sacrum region, and the data is collected in the client gateway. Adding the scanned patient data in EHR followed a manual, time-consuming, and error-prone process. The client wanted to replace the manual system through secure EHR integration and automatically send the patient data from the client gateway to EPIC EHR. The EPIC EHR has defined categories for the vital data and has a fixed type of patient vitals that can be added. So, the data scans collected by the scanning device were not allowed to be entered into the vitals API. We needed to solve this challenge to help both systems to share patient data seamlessly.
