Odyssey: Sakutaiso was designed as an immersive artistic experience, fusing visual storytelling, gameplay, and sound. The music needed to reflect each chapter’s unique narrative while standing on its own as culturally significant, memorable pieces. We composed three unique tracks, each tailored to a specific chapter of the game, using Ableton Live to produce high-quality sound design and recording. Each piece not only enhances the game’s experience but also incorporates original Georgian poetry to establish deeper cultural resonance. The result is an intricate fusion of music genres and narrative elements, balancing traditional influences with modern production techniques. The first soundtrack, Samdumaro, is an ethno-electronic composition that accompanies the game’s opening chapter, which is inspired by ancient myths and stormy seas. The lyrics are an evocative Georgian poem, rich in metaphors of silence, movement, and timeless struggles.
