Reviving Elegance with a Maximalist Twist: Sweden Unlimited worked with Cara Cara New York on a comprehensive brand and ecommerce overhaul, emphasizing their unique maximalist identity. By refreshing their brand and developing a standout Shopify Plus site, we helped propel Cara Cara into a digital-first future, where bold design meets a strong editorial viewpoint. Overview: Founded in 2019, Cara Cara New York sprouted from the collective genius of Julia Brown, Katie Hobbs, and Sasha Martin, merging their expertise in fashion design, digital media, ecommerce, and finance and marketing to create a distinctive brand. Known for infusing the joyous spirit of holidays into versatile wardrobe staples, Cara Cara champions quality, versatility, and an unbridled spirit of fun through its vibrant designs. The Challenge: Despite their vivid brand ethos, Cara Cara’s digital presence, particularly its ecommerce website, didn’t fully capture the brand’s true essence and wasn’t an optimized shopping experience.The mission was clear: to not only redesign the website for better performance and user experience using Shopify 2.0, but also to reinvent Cara Cara’s digital brand identity. The Branding Phase: For our first step, we embarked on an overhaul of Cara Cara’s brand guidelines, refining everything from typography and color palette to tone of voice and photography guidelines. We created a design system that truly resonated with Cara Cara’s sensibility, ensuring every digital touchpoint reflected the brand’s commitment to joy, versatility, and quality. Custom Solution for Patterns: Understanding the significance of Cara Cara’s unique patterns , we integrated custom modules within the website to spotlight these designs. On product detail pages (PDP), items showcased in a particular pattern were complemented with a ‘Complete the Look’ feature, encouraging users to explore matching items and elevating the average order value (AOV). The Outcome: The strategic overhaul reflects the brand’s vibrant identity online, while has also improved the user experience, increased conversion rate and AOV. Overview: ZENTS, a wellness brand known for its spa-quality products, wanted to refresh its digital presence to better reflect its deep connection to wellness, nature, and healing. With 10 signature scents designed to be layered, ZENTS needed a platform that could capture the sensory experience of their products. Our goal was to migrate the brand from WordPress WooCommerce to Shopify Plus, while shaping a digital experience that mirrors the brand’s Zen-inspired lifestyle. Challenge: ZENTS’ Woo Commerce site was no longer able to meet its growing needs. It lacked the performance and scalability required to support both direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels. The design also failed to fully reflect the luxurious, serene essence of the products, which are inspired by founder Cord Coen’s personal healing journey. Migrating to Shopify Plus offered an opportunity to improve performance and enhance the brand’s aesthetic. GOALS: Enhanced Performance: Leverage Shopify Plus for faster load times and improved e-commerce functionality. Streamlined Management: Simplify site updates with customizable sections and Shopify’s intuitive visual editor. Scalable Growth: Support both D2C and wholesale channels on one platform with room to grow. Luxury Experience: Create a design that reflects ZENTS’ high-end identity and tells Cord’s personal story of wellness and healing. SOLUTION: Inspired by Cord Coen’s recovery through holistic practices, including pranayama and meditation, we created a site design that embodied the brand’s focus on healing and transformation. The updated design guidelines featured a refined color palette and elegant, handwritten typography, incorporating a personal, human touch to the site. We integrated editorial-style visuals that emphasized the sensory elements of ZENTS' products, using organic textures and serene imagery inspired by nature. We migrated the site from Woo Commerce to Shopify Plus, enhancing speed, mobile responsiveness, and scalability. Custom modules like Quick Add and optimized navigation enhanced the user experience while maintaining a luxury feel.
